To share hope in Jesus to those experiencing mental ill health and
to equip the church to better understand and support them.
Who We Are
Lighter exists because we believe that God created every person to live a life defined by light.
Jesus said “I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me will not remain in darkness.”
This means that as we look to what Jesus says about ourselves, about the world and about God
our thinking can be brought into the light and out of the darkness.
We believe that no one has perfect mental health.
This is because we live in a world that is not as it should be, we have all been broken and some more broken than others.
This brokenness causes us to define ourselves by things that are not true, are not good and is not what Jesus says about us.
Tim Keller says: “We are more sinful and flawed in ourselves than we ever dared believe, yet at the very same time we are more loved and accepted in Jesus Christ than we ever dared hope.”
Our mental health is derived from the way we think and so when we discover this love and acceptance our thinking is reorientated to a life that is defined by light even in the midst of darkness.
Join us in the journey of having the light of Jesus expose the darkness of our thinking.
